Assistant Fire Chief Support Services

The Town of Merrimack, NH, Fire and Rescue Department is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Chief Support Services. Directly supervises all members assigned to the Support Services Division. Coordinates activities of all members at the emergency scene during command assignments; supervises career staffing, call staffing, part time staffing and per-diem employees. This position involves highly responsible administrative and management work and is a critical component of the management team.

Wage scale for this position is $73,961 – 103,715 with a starting pay not to exceed 

$94,000, DOE. Up to 5% increase based on evaluation rating upon successful completion of trial period. This is a full time FLSA exempt position with regularly scheduled hours of Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and also includes command and/or support at major emergency incidents on 24-hour basis.

The Town of Exeter, Fire Department is accepting applications and resumes for an

immediate opening in early 2020 for full-time Firefighter/Paramedic positions.

Salary Range: Firefighter/Paramedic - $50,821 - $71,809

with additional Holiday Pay, Overtime, State of NH Retirement and Generous Benefit Package

The Town of Exeter is a community of approximately 16,000 residents in the heart of the Seacoast Region. The

Town of Exeter has a rich history dating back over 380 years, and is home to the prestigious Phillips Exeter

Academy, a private preparatory school with approximately 1200 students attending from around the world.

The Exeter Fire Department is a combination department with 30 career personnel and 10 paid on call. The

department responds to over 4,500 total calls annually and provides an ALS ambulance service responding to

over 2,200 calls. The fire department boasts new and modern equipment, with a fleet of apparatus that includes

4 engines, aerial ladder, 2 ALS ambulances and numerous staff vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent;

New Hampshire Certification Firefighter Two or nationally recognized Firefighter II;

Nationally registered as an Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic;

Must possess a valid NH CDL-B Drivers License or obtain license during probation;

Must have passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) as required by the State of New Hampshire,

Division of Fire Standards & Training, Administrative Rules “Part 702”

Must be able to pass a criminal record and driving background investigation;

Must be able to pass an NFPA 1582 pre-employment physical
